At The City Academy, Hackney, we are proud to see former SCITT trainees now thriving as qualified teachers within our schools. Robert trained with us through the SCITT programme in 2025 and is now a Maths teacher at our school, supporting the next generation of students. His journey highlights the challenges, support and rewards that come with training to teach.

Have you, or someone you know, ever considered a career in teaching music? We’re excited to announce that, for the first time, we are offering a dedicated Music pathway as part of our School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme, delivered in partnership with the national education charity, Teach First. Our SCITT programme provides a flexible route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in just one year. From day one, trainees are based in school, gaining hands-on classroom experience while developing their subject expertise, supported by experienced mentors and a strong training network.
