Students must wear correct uniform at all times
This includes on their way to, at, and on the way home from the academy. It is a symbol by which students are recognised within the community and it fosters a sense of pride for, and respect of, the learning environment.
Uniform
- Academy blazer
- Academy jumper
- Academy blouse / Long-sleeved shirt & tie (Year 7 – 9 = white / Year 10 – 11 = blue)
- Flat, plain black school shoes*
- Academy skirt / trousers
- Plain black ankle socks or tights
- Academy Backpack – only bag to be used for carrying school equipment such as books and pencil cases
*Shoes must be polishable (not canvas or suede). They should be plain black with no visible branding or coloured stitching. Kickers are not allowed. Many students wear wallabee style shoes available at ShoeZone and Clarks.
Additional Items for Cold Weather
Students may wish to have these additional items when travelling to and from school
- Red Academy coat – No other types of coat allowed
- Plain black gloves & scarf (no branding)
- Grey Academy hat – no other types of hat allowed
- Plain black folding umbrella
Jewellery, Hair & Make-Up
- No jewellery except plain watches and a maximum of one plain silver or gold metal stud in each ear (must be removed for P.E.)
- Hair should be neat, professional, no dyed hair or patterns cut in
- Long hair, shoulder length or below, must be tied back with a plain black hairband
- No Make-Up
P.E. Kit
Essential P.E. Kit
For all students. Must be brought to every lesson.
(The only exception is a medical note that states the student is unable to change into P.E. kit.)
- Academy rugby shirt or polo shirt
- Academy Socks or plain white above ankle socks (no branding)
- Academy P.E. bag (string bag or hold all)
- Academy shorts
- Sport-appropriate footwear/trainers (no fashion shoes)
Additional Items
Students may wish to wear these additional items in P.E. lessons in cold weather or for religious reasons:
- Academy red sweatshirt
- Plain red baselayer (no branding)
- Academy tracksuit bottoms (for religious reasons only)
When traveling to fixtures or walking to lessons off-site the following items may be worn but must be removed during lesson:
- Academy Tracksuit bottoms
- Academy Hat
- Plain black gloves & scarf (no branding)
Sport Specific Items
The following are considered essential P.E. kit when participating in these sports are:
- Rugby – a gumshield
- Football – shinpads
- Lessons off site – studded boots in winter months
P.E. kit must be labelled with Academy labels

Shirts and trousers may be purchased more widely from other suppliers or supermarkets as long as it conforms to the uniform policy.
PSA Uniform Shop
Our Parent Staff Association run a second hand uniform shop selling a range of items including blazers and PE kit at low cost prices. They take place regularly throughout term. Please check the events page for the next second hand uniform sale.
