Welcome to the City Academy!
We are really pleased that you will be joining us in Year 7 at The City Academy, Hackney this September.
We realise that the move from primary to secondary school can be both exciting and daunting. Our aim is to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible for you. We know that your experience has been a little bit different this year and that you might have a lot of questions. To help you feel ready and prepared for September we have been thinking carefully about events and resources we can put in place.
Admissions Form
In order to make sure your child is registered correctly for September and their start at The City Academy Hackney we need parents/carers to complete our Admissions Form.

Communication
Most of our information will be sent to parents via email, and so it is important to check that we have the correct contact email address for you.
If you have not yet received an email from us please double-check your junk folder, if there is nothing there please email: admissions@thecityacademy.org
We would appreciate it if you checked your emails regularly and made sure that emails from @thecityacademy.org are added to your ‘safe senders’ lists to avoid any important messages being sent to your junk folder.
Events
First Day of Term – Wednesday 3 September 2025
8.20 am – 12.30 pm
An essential induction morning. Students will spend time in their tutor groups, have a welcome assembly and lunch.
The full timetable of lessons will begin on Friday 5 September at 8.20 am.
Education and Health Care Plans
If your child has an education and health care plan (an EHCP), you will soon be contacted by our staff to arrange additional transition support for your child.
