Principal’s Update

We have spent the last week feeding back from the most recent round of assessments: in some ways this is more important than the assessments themselves, as students use the feedback to learn from their mistakes and understand what they need to do next. Parents and carers will receive results on the last day of term on our communication portal My Child At School. If you have any problems logging in, please email communication@thecityacademy.org.
For Years 8, 9, and 12 students, results will be shared during Parent/Carer Day. If you have not yet booked a slot for your Year 8, 9, or 12, please click here.
Music Recital
Last Thursday, our sixth form students showcased a fully student-led music recital. It was a great success and allowed the 6th formers to demonstrate both their musical skills and their outstanding organisational and communication skills. We’re always so proud of how our musicians progress: from participating in our Project Band in Year 7 to organising and performing their own event in sixth form.
Science Fair
Our annual Year 8 Science Fair took place on Friday 13th March. Students demonstrated their practical scientific knowledge through live experiments and presentations. Year 8 students led this event and they confidently explained their work from the past term. The winning team will be announced in the Achievement Assembly on the last day of term.
Sixth Form Trip – Green Careers
Our Year 12 Biology students attended a careers trip to Hampstead Heath Park, where they were introduced to a range of professionals who spoke about different pathways within biology, including environmental and climate-related careers. The experience gave our students a clearer understanding of the roles available and what they need to do in their next stages if they wish to pursue a career in this field.
Year 11 Parent/Carer Exam Support Evening
This session will provide vital information about the upcoming GCSE exams, including key dates and guidance on how parents/carers can support students during this important period. Attendance is strongly recommended.
