Principal’s Update

Students have been working extremely hard over the past week during their mock exams and assessments. Students’ grades will be shared at the end of term through the My Child At School app, so ensure you have it downloaded. Year 11 and Year 13 students will receive their grades on parent and carer day on Tuesday 6th January (details below).
Safeguarding: online behaviour
As parents and teachers, we are very aware of the enormous popularity of TikTok. We also know that there are many risks associated with this platform and remind students of what to look out for when using it. Please see here for some useful guidance for parents.
Great City Bake Off
The 2025 Great City Bake Off took place on Monday 17th November 2025 and it was an evening of light sponge and sweet treats. Congratulations to all who took part and a huge well done to our winners:
- First place: Jeya Kaur and Ellie O’Dwyer
- Second place: Fayokemi Oluwasegun and Cebelle Gyan
- Third place: Yedidya Basazinew and Alenna Piatkewich



Additional Studies
Our Additional Studies Winter Break has now begun. Additional studies will resume on Tuesday 27th January 2025. Until then school will finish at 3:30pm each day.
Sixth Form Open Evening
We had an excellent turnout at our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 20th November. Hundreds of prospective students visited, engaged enthusiastically, and got a real sense of what our sixth form offers. Thank you to all staff and our student leadership team for their support with tours, questions, and advice.

Year 11 and 13 Parent & Carer Day
Parent and Carer Day for Year 11 and Year 13 will take place on Tuesday 6th January 2026. This is your only opportunity to meet with all your child’s subject teachers before final exams and to receive their mock exam results. During your appointments, teachers will discuss strengths and areas for development.
Please note:
- Students must attend with their parent/carer and must be in full school uniform.
- Students cannot attend alone.
Available time slots:
- 13:00 – 15:15 (last entry 14:45)
- 16:00 – 19:00 (last entry 18:30)
