Principal’s Update

We are heading into a busy time period, with all year groups preparing for their autumn assessments. This time is especially important for Years 11 and 13 as they begin their first set of mock exams. The assessments begin on Monday 24th November 2025. Students will receive their assessment timetable and topic list during tutor time, and these are also available on our website here. Please go through these with your child to ensure they are fully prepared.
Safeguarding Reminder
Just a reminder that we ask all students to go directly home from school as soon as they are dismissed. This is an important element in keeping safe. Students who loiter on the streets after school increase the risk of being victims of crime themselves or of being drawn into anti-social behaviour. Thank you for your support on this.
Forvais Mazars Careers Trip
As part of the IntoUniversity programme, a group of selected Year 10 students visited Forvis Mazars. Three accountants spoke to them about their roles within the firm, and students took part in a project-management challenge based on planning a charity music event. They later presented their work to guest speakers, IntoUniversity staff, and their peers, receiving constructive feedback. A special shout out goes to An Qi Chen for excellent organisation skills and teamwork.
Silent Ceremony
On Friday 7th November 2025, our students were honoured to attend the Silent Ceremony at the Guildhall, an annual tradition where the new Lady Mayor is sworn into office. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was great to see students from across the City of London Academies Trust coming together for such a historic event.
Admissions Consultation:
Hackney Education is running a consultation on behalf of several own admitting authority schools that are proposing changes to their admission arrangements for 2027/28. The proposed changes will apply to children starting Reception or Year 7 in September 2027 and any other applications submitted during that academic year. You can find out more on Hackney Education’s website at education.hackney.gov.uk/content/admissions-consultation The consultation is open for six weeks and you must submit your views by Sunday 14 December 2025 using the online feedback form on the website.
Additional Studies Winter Break
The additional studies winter break will begin on Monday 24th November. School will finish at 3.30pm every day except for detentions and extra activities such as rehearsals and fixtures.
Sixth Form Open Evening
Our Sixth Form Open Evening will take place on Thursday 20th November, for students who would like to apply to our Sixth Form. The event runs from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and each booking requires the attendance of at least one adult. To book a slot for our Sixth Form Open Evening, please click here.
