Principal’s Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

The term has started very positively, and it was wonderful to see so many of you at our recent Meet the Tutor/Head of Year events and SEND coffee afternoons. These opportunities are really valuable in helping us work together to support your child’s learning. If you were unable to attend this time, we strongly encourage you to come along to the next parent events.

Appointments during the school day

Any lesson time missed has a negative impact on children’s experience of school and should be avoided as far as possible. Please note that medical and dental appointments must be made at times outside the school day or during the holidays wherever possible. In the unusual circumstance where this is not possible (such as a specialist hospital appointment), proof of the appointment must be provided to the attendance team in advance @attendance@thecityacademy.org.Without notice and evidence, the absence will be unauthorised. Students must catch up any work they miss – it is their responsibility to organise this.

Our communication portal: My Child at School (MCAS)

We now use MCAS (My Child At School) as our main communication platform. You can access this either via the smartphone app or through a web browser.

If you have not yet logged in, please click here for instructions. We are aware that some families have experienced issues while adapting to the new system, and we thank you for your patience. If you need support or would like to share feedback, please email: communication@thecityacademy.org.
