Principal’s Update

The last two weeks have been very busy as students have focused on revision sessions and mock exams. They have worked hard and remained focused throughout and we look forward to seeing the results of their efforts during feedback lessons and mock results days (Tuesday 1st-Thurs 3rd April). Parents and carers will receive progress checks via PAM on the last day of term.
Year 8 and 9 GCSE Options Evening
Our GCSE Options Evening will be on Wednesday 2nd April 2025. The choices that students make for GCSE are critical in terms of their future academic and/or career path as well as their potential achievement. Some students in Year 8 will start their GCSE pathways by beginning one GCSE option in year 9. All Year 9students will make their final choices to begin in year 10. Hackney Food Bank Charity Run
Our annual charity run at Mabley Green was a great success: students put in their best efforts to achieve some great times and they even managed to get our staff members to join them: Mr Mangera showed the year 9s how it is done! See here for the fastest times in each year group. Donations to the Hackney Foodbank will accepted until Thursday 27th March 2025.
The City’s School Concert
The City‘s School Concert was a celebration of musical talent, bringing together all the schools within The City of London family of schools. It took place in the Great Hall at the Guildhall and enabled the students to showcase their musical talents. As always, it was great to see our musicians on the stage, representing The City Academy Hackney with pride and showing what we are all about. It was also a testament to the dedication and vision of our music team who have worked relentlessly over many years to build a culture of musical excellence at The City Academy Hackney.
