Hackney Gala 2026
Published: Thu 29 January 2026The City Academy, Hackney took 25 outstanding students to the Hackney Gala, where they delivered an amazing performance of “This Is England” by Kano. The band featured an epic 19-piece brass ensemble (most of whom had never played a musical instrument before they joined the academy in year 7) providing a powerful backing for four female vocalists. Bursting with energy and enthusiasm, the students truly stole the show and were rewarded with a huge cheer from the crowd.
