Music at The City Academy, Hackney is vibrant and exciting
Learning to play a musical instrument is one way students can get involved in lots of great events. It offers the opportunity to learn a new skill, become a more well-rounded individual and is also incredibly fun.
Instrument lessons are open to everyone and the lessons have been subsidised to make them as affordable as possible.
Lessons
Students can learn up to two instruments. There are lessons for:
| Bassoon | Guitar – Classical, Electric & Bass | Singing |
| Cello | Horn | Trombone |
| Clarinet | Music Theory | Trumpet |
| Drum Kit | Piano | Viola |
| Flute | Saxophone | Violin |
If there is an instrument not on the list please ask, and we’ll see what we can organise!
Instrumental lessons take place during the school day. Students will miss 25-30 minutes of a lesson each week, with times on a rotation system so that no one lesson is missed on a regular basis. Students will receive a timetable for the term, and they must do their best to stick to these agreed times.
