Students at City of London sixth forms in Hackney, including The City Academy, Hackney are celebrating their A level results today with a record number securing top grades.

Students across City of London Academies Trust celebrate today as they receive their A level exam results, including a string of straight A* grades at The City Academy, Hackney. Sixth form students at the high-performing sixth form in Homerton achieved some of their best results including a record number of A*/A grades at A level, alongside top BTEC grades that place the academy in the top 10% nationally for academic progress.
Elsa achieved A*AA and is going to Sheffield University to study Biochemistry. Whilst studying for her A levels, she still found the time to compete internationally at BMX and this summer became the European Junior Champion and the World Junior Silver Medallist.
Medal-winner, Elsa, who secured her place at Sheffield told us:
“In both my studies and my sporting career, I draw on my mum’s advice to just keep turning those pedals!”

This year City of London Academies Trust was commended by the Secretary of State for Education for the excellent post-16 outcomes of its most disadvantaged pupils, ranked top multi-academy trust nationally for A level performance.
The sixth forms across City of London Academies Trust, including the two in Hackney, all ranked in the top 25% nationally for academic progress and received prestigious Gold Awards from ALPS, a national educational organisation that helps schools measure and analyse academic progress.
